The 2018 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Vecchia Scarrone has an extra kick of darkness, structure and overall gravitas than the regular Scarrone bottling, if that term can even be used. Scorched earth, licorice, black cherry, plum and menthol infuse the 2018 with serious depth. I would cellar the 2018 for at least a few years. It is a gorgeous wine in the making, but some of the tannin needs to melt away. 2025 - 2033
