The 2013 Barbaresco Gaiun is gorgeous. Warm, resonant and inviting, with a lovely center of fruit and striking mid-palate depth, the 2013 impresses with its exceptional balance and poise. Succulent red cherry, plum, blood orange, wild flowers and a hint of new French oak. An understated and polished wine, the 2013 Gaiun captures the Marchesi di Grésy at its best. In the past, the Gaiun was at times marked by French oak, but the 2013 is impeccably balanced in every way. The persistent, beautifully sculpted finish makes it hard to resist a second taste. It is also one of the finest wine I have tasted from Marchesi di Grésy of late.
