Taking its name from the icy winter winds that blow down from the Alps across this section of northeast Italy, the Kante 2009 Chardonnay La Bora di Kante is a carefully aged and evolved Chardonnay that looks, smells and tastes 10 years younger than the wine's vintage date reports. It opens to a light golden straw color and shows none of the yellowing that comes with oxidation. The bouquet is linear and sharp, revealing peach, pear and Golden Delicious apple. You might feel the wine's age on the palate. Those fruity flavors have been subdued by elegantly aged aromas of crushed cement, white mineral and ash. This is a very special wine for those lucky enough to get their hands on what remains of this 5,000-bottle release. It's hard to imagine an end date to this impressive aging potential. 2021 - 2028
