Dark cherries, plums, tar, licorice and incense blossom in the 2009 Barolo San Lorenzo di Verduno. Of the single-vineyard wines, the San Lorenzo is the most heavily marked by the year. The trademark richness and power are both there, but the wine is a bit heavy and less exciting than the best wines in the range. Still a solid and great showing.
